Study personnel

Study personnel might feel like an obvious term—it’s the people involved in conducting research. There are so many types of study personnel, though, including the principal investigator, clinical research coordinators, data analysts, statisticians, and more.
Study personnel of all kinds have some unique importance in ME/CFS research. Study teams need to be sensitive to participants’ symptoms, especially post-exertional malaise. With such a complex, multi-system disease, having insight into the patient experience or a good understanding of the disease can also be important for the personnel analyzing data.
