A question re: the possibility that mitochondria may play a role in ME / CFS pathophysiology.
1.Mitochondrial genes come from a person’s mother and father in different proportions.
2.Patient’s have children who have children with this disease.
3.An Epidemiological study of women with ME / CFS who have children who themselves have ME / CFS,
AND includes the same study of men with ME / CFS who have children who themselves have ME / CFS
MAY show the same gender population proportion as are seen in the gender proportion of the mitochondrial genes that come from the mother and father .
Does this sound like a reasonable study, and if so, would there be interest in pursuing such a study.
